Winslow Homer's work, Girl on a Swing, from 1879 is a small watercolor depicting a common American girl in Virginia lost in her daydream enjoying the rhythm of the swing. This sense of belonging to her environment and the beauty of the nature she was lost in spoke to me.

I've engaged the scene and replaced the girl with a modern young women to depict moments of growth and stability for women that echo back 100 years.
